The online community of knife collectors, A Knife Family Forged in Steel
Shown here is an early numbered First Production Benchmade Volli. This is a new model...and is generally considered an upgrade over the Barrage series. While both feature the Nitrous-assist technology, the Volli is certainly an upgrade. Here's what you get with the Volli:
* Textured G-10 handle scales.
* S30V blade steel.
* Better drop point blade shape.
As sometimes happens, my knife came with a couple of minor hiccups in it:
1. The assist lock was rattling/loose.
2. The blade had some side-to-side play in it. At Benchmade's direction, I took the handle scale off, adjusted the pivot, re-installed the scale (the pivot is hidden under the scale. Yeah, I know, "Why did they do that?". This got rid of the bladeplay...but, unfortunately, the bottom scale screw stripped out (oddly soft). So...I contacted Benchmade about this...and they quickly sent me out some new screws and a pocket clip (which I didn't ask for, but "thanks Benchmade). Unfortunately, the screws that they sent me are too long for the handle scale.
