The online community of knife collectors, A Knife Family Forged in Steel
When I found out that Spyderco was getting ready to release a new Sage knife, I have to admit that I was pretty excited. I have the first Sage (Carbon Fiber handle scales and the Walker Liner-lock)...and the second Sage (Titanium with the RIL system). Both knives are two "favorites".
Recently, I had an opportunity to pick one up from the early production run (mine is SN#63). This one, in it's own unique way (which is part of the "fun" of the Sage series), is just as impressive as it's two older siblings.
Sporting bright blue G10 handle scales and the Collins Bolt-lock, the quality on the Sage 3 is "perfect". The knife feels super comfortable in the hand. The texturing on the G10 is "ideal" for a knife of this size (medium). The blade came shaving sharp and PERFECTLY finished. The Collins Bolt-lock works similarly to Benchmade's Axis-lock and is "super smooth".
I'll stop ramping up on this; you'll eventually see a review of it in the Spyderco Knife Reviews forum.
