Benchmade has produced an exceptional reminder of why they are certainly one of the very best knife manufacturers on earth; the Barrage 581.

Benchmade fans should be familiar with the Barrage platform. The 581 takes that design and really hot rods it with G10 handle scales, aluminum bolsters and M390 Super Steel.

The overall quality and general fit of this knife is outstanding. The finish on the blade is a little puzzling as it could have been cleaned up a bit more. I gather that M390 is a little tougher to finish than some steels...so perhaps that's the reason mine doesn't look as nice as the finish that Benchmade puts on the 154cm standard Barrage.
