The online community of knife collectors, A Knife Family Forged in Steel
One of the country's premier outdoor craft instructors is Dave Canterbury from the Pathfinder School. He has a saying that I've adopted and it goes like this; "Two is one and one is none." In context (relative to survival applications), Dave is saying that you have to have a backup plan when you go into the wilderness. If you have one cutting tool, you better take two (if one fails or becomes lost, you have a second one). Not only is this true in the wild outdoors, it's true when it comes to EDC knives. All this leads us to...
Benchmade's 527 Mini Presidio Ultra happens to be one of my favorite EDC knives of all-time. I have a satin finished version that I've used a ton and it performs wonderfully. I also have a collectible "Shooting Team USA" version. I didn't have the black bladed standard version...until now. This really is one of the very best small locking knives available. If you haven't tried one, you should. I get my Benchmades from Roger at www.knifeworks.com. Typically, he has the best prices (particularly if you can use the coupon code from his site!). He ships the orders super fast and is always great to deal with.
