Welcome Home...THANK YOU FOR BEING A PART OF OUR COMMUNITY

Ok...for everybody that is tired of being subjected to my current slip-joint mania, here's Benchmade's new take on one of 2010's new models; the Bone Collector 15020.

Longtime iKC friends...and members of the Benchmade Addicts forum here on iKC know that I gave a very positive opinion of the original Bone Collector 15020. Simply put; it is a fantastic knife (some people think that it is too heavy; I'm not one of those people). I mention this to put what I'm about to say in context; since I liked the original (enough to get a First Production Run knife), I couldn't resist getting this Walnut handled version!

Again, Benchmade has produced an outstanding knife! While I have a bit of a fetish for sculpted G10 (which the original sports), this Walnut wood handled version is equally enjoyable. As a woodworker, this brawny companion really appeals to me. I like the fit and finish on this knife. That said, the blade did come a little "off center"...which tends to irritate me. I tried to manipulate it to the center...but without taking the knife apart...it just wasn't happening. Since it isn't wildly off-center, I let things be. Like it's predecessor, this Bone Collector features an excellently executed D2 steel blade. In some ways, this is "better out of the box" than my original...because the blade came very sharp! Also, like the original, this knife sports the Axis Lock system (which just rocks). And...it came with that rather magnificent smelling "Benchmade factory" scent. I like that smell every bit as much as "new car smell". In some regards "better" because I can buy lots of knives for what I'd pay for a car...
