I can get Myrtle wood slabs for you. I think the longest I can get is about 5" long 2" wide 3/8" thick. Let me know if you cant find it and I'll get you some!
i guess i am gonna be looking out for myrtle from now !
but i think here in europe it will no tbe around a lot ..... so i will check the american imports

That is one awesome looking guitar! Check my photos if you like. I handled a knife that I use for hunting with Myrtle wood and I really like it. Its very hard wood and holds up to the elements very well.

probably much harder than birch because they even use it for guitars ( "tonewood")
That Birch looks a lot like Myrtle Wood that grows only on the coast of Oregon and a couple other places. Very hard wood with beautiful grain.

the handles give me a kind of warm feeling in the winter too LOL
