Dan, Ross Oar is a professional woodcarver and author. He designed the Oar Carver, and sold them through his business, Westfalls Products. After the death of his wife, he sold his business interests to Robert Stadtlander, of Stadtlander Woodcarvings. They remain about the only reliable supplier of the Oar Carvers, though I have seen them available, sporadically elsewhere.
