The online community of knife collectors, A Knife Family Forged in Steel
Benchmade's Nitrous Stryker is one of the most tactical platforms that the company has produced. Though the knife is undeniably "tactical", it actually works great in an EDC role as well.
Visitors of my photo page have seen a couple of other Strykers that I own; both in a satin finish. The model shown here is finished in Benchmade's BK (black) coating.
There are a number of things that I really like about the Stryker platform:
* It is very lightweight.
* The G10 handle scales provide excellent traction.
* The 913 edition is just the right size; neither too long, nor too short. And, as far as the profile goes, it's quite sleek...and yet doesn't feel "too thin" in hand.
* D2 Steel may not be ideal for a large fixed blade survival knife, but it works wonderfully for a folding knife.
* The Nitrous System works well enough that I actually like it (normally, I don't like assisted opening systems).
* The jimping on the spine of the blade...and the spine of the handle, works exceptionally well.
All in all, I consider the Stryker to be one of the better folding knife designs of all time.
