Welcome Home...THANK YOU FOR BEING A PART OF OUR COMMUNITY

If I say, "Gotham", what comes to mind? For some of you, "New York City". For a few others...perhaps you think, "Gotham City, home of the Batman." Have I freaked you out yet? Think that I'm on a big-time GEEK-fest? If that's what you are thinking, splash some cold water on your face and I'll explain what the heck Gotham and Batman have to do with the Benchmade knife shown in this photo.

I'm a fan of Snody designs. I find the shapes that he uses quite compelling. The knife shown in this photo is identified as the Benchmade Snody 420 Resistor. I know, I know, you are saying to the screen, "I still don't know that this has to do with Batman." Keep your shorts on; we'll get to that in a moment.

I was drawn to this knife because I have a MAJOR affinity for the Benchmade HK Snody Axis model. If you are familiar with that magnificient blade, you just might see some of that design in the 420 Resistor. See it? If you do, you'll get why I wanted this knife. This is a great and fairly unique collector's piece. The aluminum handle scales measure just under 3/16" thick...while the overall thickness of the handle...including the G10 bat scale overlays nearly reaches 15/16" thick. As folding knives go, this is the second thickest handle I've encountered (if memory serves, the Pohl Force Alpha has the thickest of all). Personally, I find the super thick handle of the Resistor very comfortable. And the build quality of this knife is hallmark Benchmade; fantastic.

Oh...yes, I almost forgot. The company selling this knife, posted a description on eBay of Benchmade "Gotham". For a while, my addled mind didn't make any connection between Batman/Gotham and the Snody-designed Resistor. Then it dawned on me; see the knife's coloration? That's the Dark Knight Detective's color scheme. See the black G10 overlay's shape? Looks kind of like the Batman signal shape, doesn't it?
