The good news....I now know why O bothered testing the heat treat on this one.

The bad news....the heat treat "done got messed up"

Notice how more near the tip the edge is still intact? That part got the same kind of abuse from me. (Chopping full force into the corner of that woodblock you see) I also tested the other knives in the batch, they came through with flying colours.

Still annoyed about this one though. It was looking to turn out well :-(

I'll be able to salvage some of the blade. But the whole thing will have to be re-heat treated. And I'm not giving this jerk of a blade the nice mirror polish that I was originally planning OR the nice pants (scales) I was planning. He'll have to live a a pauper and be glad of his existance darnit.
