Camilus... at least as long-time collectors know it... may be gone, but it's far from forgotten. To this day, I'm dismayed by the closing of Camilus. How on earth could we let such a horrible thing happen? What am I saying? They started up in the late 1800's!!!! They should still be around today!!! Wake up America!!!! Step away from your video games, rap and pop culture and start putting some value into the real roots of this country! Camilus is one of the more fascinating American manufacturing stories ever. And talk about an American ICON when it comes to knives! This company made some incredible fixed blade knives, as well as some even more incredible pocket knives.

Shown here is one of my all-time favorite pocket knives, the Camilus Yellow Jacket. The workmanship on this knife is BRILLIANT. It is truly a testament to the manufacturing philosophy that really built this country. I'm just blessed to own a piece of GOOD American history!

I agree, Camillus should have been saved!

"The photos in the previous post are of an old German pruning type knife I just aquired. It surely is interesting, and quite old."
