I have no idea how the stag was cut for the shield. I just liked the knife and bought it. Thanks for the compliment.
That is a beautiful knife. I'm curious about the way the stag is cut for the shield....no criticism of your knife, in fact most of the stag I've seen is cut that way. The only CS I have is their Half Moon Trapper, and they did such a nice job recessing the shield that I wonder why it wasn't done to all their knives.

Nice set of Canal Street knives! The guy I bought my fixed blade from also had that two blade trapper with stag handles, I was torn between the two but decided on the fixed blade. You have a really nice set of Canal's there!!
Nice Knives David - especially like the top one in stag
Funny thing isnt it? So many have only one Canal Street. Well I am glad I got one of them myself, If I had another one I would use it but not gonna use this one.
Thanks for the compliments friends.
Like that John you've scored a beauty! Reminds me I must get a Canal Street myself before they all get taken up into collections, only got turned on to the modern USA traditional makers a couple of years back GEC - Queen and the unfortunate Canal Street - shame it didn't go the distance.
you know it seems funny, I have one and only one Canal Street also
I purchased it at the Placerville Gun and Knife show. It is my one and only Canal Street as well Dale! I love it. It will wind up in a display somewhere. I have about nine fixed blades that I pick from when I am in the woods but this isnt going to be one of them. Thanks for the compliments!
