Occasionally, I'll buy a knife just because it is "pretty". Candidly, this doesn't happen often because my orientation tends to focus on aspects other than aesthetics. However...
I recently picked up the Hen & Rooster stockman pocket knife shown in the photo. She is a pretty little thing, isn't she?
* Ocean Blue-green acrylic handle scales are nicely done. Fit and finish with the bolsters and back springs is "quite good".
* Polish on the blades is spiffy clean. I've seen better...but this is "quite good". And they are decently sharp. Could have been sharper...but "decent".
* Fit and finish on the knife, overall, is "quite good".
* Backsprings on the knife are a bit weak. Little disappointing. Not terrible, though...and given how affordable this knife is, I really can't complain. And they are plenty strong enough for the light duty things that I would use this knife for.
All in all, this knife was very affordable (brand new!), is quite a looker, feels nice in the hand and is just "different" enough to make a good addition to my collection.
That said, I do remember when Germany was known for making "better" products than nearly every other country on the planet. I think it likely that those days are long gone. While the quality of this knife is "quite good"...I've seen it's like from a dozen other countries.
