A collector can get a few really old mint knives.  They sometimes come from factory collections or collections of officers of a company. You are lucky to have one of a few mity examples of a minty knife.

I bought it from a guy that had three of them. He bought them from a guy that bought them when they came out originally, and THAT guy only opened them to look at them. A "Time Machine Knife".
