Here is a thread about your knife===>
Please assist in dating this older Imperial fixed blade Hunting she...

I have a couple of examples of this Imperial "Outers" pattern knife. I am yet to see it illustrated in a period advertisement or catalog, so it's exact time of manufacture is still a matter of conjecture. Yes, the Western States pattern was copied by Marbles. Marbles made it after discontinuing the similar (though without the self-guard) Dall DeWeese pattern. Remington also produced this pattern, though I am not certain when. IMHO, the Imperial knife could have been made for them by any of these three companies and not have been manufactured by Imperial at all. But the truth is, at this point, no one that I am aware of is able to say with any certainty, except that it would have been a marketable pattern from the era late 1920's thru mid 1930's when the "Sportsman" pattern pretty well displaced it as the lower price point outing knife in the U.S. market. Camillus also had a hunting knife in that price bracket, albeit usually with cocobolo handle covers and no self-guard, which preceeded it's own "Sportsman" pattern. If anyone locates a copy of a jobber's catalog or merchant's catalog, or magazine advertisement of this or any other depression era "Outer's" pattern knives, I would like to see it. Being of relatively low collector value, there does not seem to be a lot of interest in ferreting out the details of this pattern.

Jigged bne scales. The Imperial stamp is in script. Unable to find in any of my books. I normally won't take a 2cnd look @ imperial. But, this one caught my eye. No clue how old.

Anybody out there have any info on this one ???
