Thank you all for the nice Challenge/Schrade comments.  I lived in Bridgeport about 45 years ago. It was a commuter city to the many factories in Southern Connecticut.  I have some George Schrades which I hope to post sometime way in the future.  1928 was just before the stock market crash and Depression which ended many knife making firms worldwide.  Been busy with other activities and I am going to Rangely Lake/Maine for the great outdoors next week.

I will be at the Marlborough, Ma show in September ; The Easton, Pa  show early October, and hopefully the Keystone show in Lewisburg, Pa in February.

I find old great knives at most shows and antique stores sometimes... flea markets some but yard sales ...rarely worth the drive. Its a long wayto anywhere from here.

One of my all time favorite knife patterns and knife companies, I'm a little envious! I could never get one of these and at this point in life I'm just happy to see pictures. It's one of the "holy grails" that has eluded me.

Challenge Cutlery lived on after it closed in 1928. George Schrade bought the assets and set up shop. His Presto switchblades were THE knife. His sons sold the company in 1956 and that was the end of cutlery business in Bridgeport, CT.

Challange was a great old company and this is why!  A knife that can last
