I asked Steve Paolantonio about this knife and this is his reply.

Steve Paolantonio SWISS MASTER SERIES, designed during the early 1980's, to offer those wanting an American made Swiss style knife. The Swiss Master series was not manufactured for very long due to the Chinese imports selling for $2. OR $3.00 at best and the Swiss army version selling for a few dollars more than our American made version caused the Colonial Knife Swiss master series to be short lived. However, its was a fine knife and genuine American stainless cutlery steel, the type of cutlery steel no longer available in the United States due to a lack of buyers since everyone now buys their knives made in China, the Cutlery Steel industry has taken a big hit, making 440A difficult to come by.
