The online community of knife collectors, A Knife Family Forged in Steel
This is a Schrade SNOBOY fruit sampler knife, featuring the Schrade's Wonda-Edge blade. This knife first appeared in Schrade-Walden's 1961 Catalog. The serrations are only on one side - the other side has a flat edge. A tidbit from a man who sharpened Schrade knives at knife shows -- Sharpen the flat side only.
Schrade describes the handles as marine pearl unbreakable plastic. The circa of this knife is between 1961 and 1973. The obverse tang stamp reads "Schrade" over "Walden" over "N.Y. USA". The reverse tang stamp reads "SS700" over "Stainless". While the SS does mean stainless steel, 700 is the model number. Schrade describes its stainless steel as high-carbon stainless.
