There is an old school Maker by the name of Gary Dick who invited me over to show me how one time and since then he has always been around for the support as well as numerous groups along the way. I've never been one that just took it lightly when someone told me "you can't" There are more resources today than there have ever been. I've taken full advantage of it too. The next step for me is to forge my Damascus and sweat the details more on my hammer & chisel engraving. This is one of the few areas that you need a corner man...or its a slow learn

George,

You've really come a long way in such a relatively short period of time. With each new knife you are getting better and better -- It really shows in your work! I like the handle materials and the different steels that you are using in your projects. From my perspective it would appear that you are well on your way to becoming a Master Bladesmith!

Do you have a mentor or someone who has helped you to get as far as you have? Or, are you learning all on your own? Either way, your dedication and love for your work is obvious! I'm really glad that you are a member of iKC and I appreciate that you have brought my attention to your website. Good looking photography and some great looking knives!

Cheers, my friend! Keep up the good work!

Hey Ron, thanks for the compliments on my work. Reuniting with the group was a reality check for me. It was a year ago in March when I joined. I didnt even know how to grind a knife out at that time. I see a few old pics of some kits I did when I was learning. About 6 months ago I started full time and haven't looked back.....Its been a Rock Road and Im still dealing with growing pains, but I think I can see the light at the end of the tunnel....no wait that's the train...lol but FB,the Twitt, Pinterest, and www.gfcustomknives.com all have albums of finished projects.

Sweet! I love the mirror polished blade. And, I especially like your Maker's Mark!

A beautiful knife all around! Nice work, George!
