1991 Cripple Creek Stag Trapper ~ #22 One of 40 ~ American Edge Collectors Association ~ Old Fort, TN. USA

Having lost a portion of his right leg following a tragic automobile accident Bob Cargill, Cripple Creek's creator, used the 3 legged standing buffalo as his Company's iconic symbol. In 1937 the Denver Mint had accidentally issued a 3 legged buffalo on it's Buffalo Nickel. The missing leg was caused by a Mint worker being careless while cleaning a coin die; he accidentally erased part of the leg. Hence the 3 legged buffalo.

Seen here with one of iKC's Club knives for size comparison.
