While I'm a fan of just about every Emerson knife, I have a special fondness for the CQC-15 platform. Earnest Emerson describes the blade as a "Tantcom" and that word has found it's way into my knife-lexicon. In addition to Emerson's high quality prerequisite, I've found that the blade shape...kind of a combination of tanto and recurve drop point...to work exceptionally well. Shown here are my full-size CQC-15 with the frosted finish on the blade (I think that Emerson calls it "satin", but to me it resembles frosted steel) AND my newly acquired Mini CQC-15 with my personal favorite blade finish...the STONEWASH. Aside from the size and the blade finish, there is another rather subtle difference between the two knives; the Mini has a swedge. Very cool! Interestingly, while both knives have superb quality, the Mini's workmanship is a little better on the G10 texturing. Thank you Mr. Emerson! Gotta dig these knives!
