Thank you Jan.Chopped fatwood works too. : )
I use a very sharp knife, keep the resin cleaned off, and make shallow, long cuts. Kind of like making a feather stick. I hold the knife stationary, and pull the fatwood.

you are a better lady than I !  I tried shaving fatwood and ended up chopping it
