Damascus twist forged with Bubinga and Tagua Nut. Side 1

This is a knife I forged from a piece of twist damascus.

The Bolster is a Tagua nut (non-animal alternative ivory)

The handle is Bubinga wood.

Yeah, what they don't tell you however if that the nuts usually have a hollow in them. And you can't predict from the outside where it's going to be. That little bit of tagua there started out as a full size nut. I ended up reducing the rest of it to dust. Just filing it down untill I had something that would work as a bolster. It's the worst one out of the three that I've worked with. Still I like the stuff enough that only last week I ordered another Kilo's worth of the things.

It's very hard and polishes very nice as well. I can be stained but I've never tried that because I like the creamy white finish on it way too much.
