Are the camo scales made with water transfer printing (Wassertransferdruck)?

the Bavarian scaled knives you can buy from Victorinox. The camo scales.... I gave the red scales to a friend who has a body shop for painting cars and he made the the camo suface with a special process (I cant translate it :-).
