so FARMER JACK is just a nickname its picked up?... what we have is what it says below in the older catalog and in the book i mentioned they are still called a BUDDING AND PRUNING knife... call me a GEEK..but JACK knives have their blades all at one end of the knife... but i can see the reason for the nickname with such a long pattern name.LOLOL.. ALSO i have seen this pattern in FIGHT ROOSTER knives...same setup but cotton sampler instead of hawk...besides that the frame is even the same!! LYLE GREAT TO MEET YA!!!!!!!! ...AWESOME KNIVES TO COLLECT but a knife one must be very careful when collecting.i would not buy any SCHRADE from the PEACHBONE ERA without it being IN HAND.

SORRY FOR JACKING THREAD BUT TRYING TO HELP!!...
this knife can be found on page 421 of this book. http://www.knifeworld.com/ofpricguidto.html and their is a S7303 listed which means simply the same knife but special combination...so some of these with the pruner may in fact actually have other blades but it doesnt say which.
also the picture SMILING KNIFE POSTED... below here is a link to that same knife ...but i see lots different their as well. http://www.iknifecollector.com/photo/dscf2875-8?context=user#!/phot...
that following link is in this same batch of pics..i just set it uop so you can jump around and look. hope i helped, hope i havent confused.
hey i found the knife! here are the specs on this blade
MODEL # 7303 name- BUDDING AND PRUNING KNIFE
SCALES-BONE STAG
LENGTH - 4 AND 1/8TH INCHES LONG.
im no schrade expert of any kind by far... and i would need more pics but i can tell you unless scharade made a habit oput of changing their blade styles something is VERY VERY WRONG with the blade setup.
again withoput more info like the full tang stamps and pics i dont wanna start guessing thing. but unless shcrade stopped using their actual BUDDING blade... that is a sheepsfoots blade MOD ...to throw ya off...
SCHRADE used what most folks used and that was a real budding blade..it hd a swedge in the center and sorta made the blade crooked in the middle... this SECONDARY blade does not at all do that..and the original had a slight swedge ,which this blade has none. the main blade of this knife, again unless shcrade changed it{i dont know} had a very nice sized swedge that the pull almost was part of. i think i see the start of a slight swedge on the top of the blade but not at all like the swedge once again im looking at... it would sill be plenty full even with the blade the way it is...
i dont know yet if their are more pics of this knife lsted here.if their are i will take a look...if not i would love a clsoeup of the tang stamp and of course a pic of the PILE side. the lack of swedges where they should be and that rear bolster in this pic are enough to get me asking questions.
@smilng-knife thank you! ... score ! for the KnifeKnerd! ...
hey ..i am a super nerd.. i even got it down to the exact names of each blade
... now if we could just find if their is a number on this piece or picturet,catalog.. ectect... would be great!... if it had a pattern numbe that would help!! great job SMILING!!!!
is their a number on theback of the main blade? also i have seen alot of IVORY buddingblades with SCHRADE ... but with that pruner blade i am sti saying this is something floaral... if it has a number somewhere that would of course narrow it right down.
very very nice....YU DONT GET BONE DYED LIKE THAT NO MORE...unlss custom...
looks like a BUDDING knife or such. LOVE THEM FATTY RAT TAIILED BOLSTERS!!!
i say budding/florist knife since the main blade looks like it was a PRUNER of sorts and the secondary i think is a budding blade ...grqafting..ectect...
