I am posting this photo 2 times w/ diff comments.
From Left to Right

Cold Steel Recon 1- about 15 years old. The old Steel from Japan that Cold Steel used was exceptional. It holds a great edge. I’ve (as you can see) beat the heck out of it. I love this knife. I have a newer one that I put up (it is a limited edition), the newer handles are much safer both in design and in material (the new ones use very grippy G10) This one is slippery-er, but gets very, very sharp and stays there.
Hogue–Elishewitz Design This is a great knife. It is perfectly made and flips open easily. It has a button release (for the lock) as well as a safety button lock. It is CPM 154. The clip is tip down or up.
Emerson Super Raven ser#0051. CPM154. I heavily modified this one. The blade is rebevelled. it took forever, I took a lot of steel off. It came w/ G10 scales, I used French Walnut and made new ones. It has the Emerson “Wave” feature (Hidden when open here). The wave makes Emerson’s’ knives the fastest deploying folder there is. If you carry a knife with a Wave feature, I recommend practicing opening it a few hundred times, wearing it in the same spot on your pants, and wearing it with heavy rather than thin fabric pants. Not a quick deploy under a winter coat but a beefy, sturdy, well made knife with great steel.
Meyerco 18Xray Pre production model designed and assembled by Darrel Ralph. 154CM. Auto, Locks open and closed, designed for paratroopers. Not commercially available. This is the only knife I do NOT carry, ever. Though it would be fun to carry it, it is a rare item and also… umm, not an easy one to explain on a traffic stop, if you know what I mean.
Darrel Ralph Trigger Maze This knife has a great story. I won it in a raffle at the knife show. It is a frame lock with thick titanium scales. The blade is 154 and is an assisted opener with a flipper. It is extremely well made. I put a mirror edge on it using a “wicked edge” sharpener down to .05-micron paste on leather. I saw Darrel at the knife show and told him I had sharpened it before he saw the edge. He didn’t seem interested, then he saw the edge and looked me in the eye and said, “you put that edge on?” HA - instant respect. Darrel is a very funny and bright guy and this is a great knife.
A.G.Russell Italian made in 2004. Titanium Frame Lock, ATS-34. I like carrying this lightweight knife; it has a nice profile. As a tactical knife, it is not my favorite, but it is very pleasant to use. The Steel holds a good edge.
CRKT Pat Crawford Design “The Natural” This is not an expensive knife. The steel is one of those new Chinese steels. It sharpened up ok, it’s held an edge too. It’s an assisted opener. There’s a spring bar under the blade, not a round spring around the pivot bar. It’s a HEAVY knife. You can’t wear it with slacks. Jeans weight fabric only. The bone handle’s too close to the screw and chipped (design flaw in my opinion.) There’s a larger model and a wooden handled model (in both sizes). The wooden one might not chip as easily as the bone. The liner on the backside is file worked. It looks nice. It is a “Beefy” knife.
MCUSTA I forget the model name of this one. Mcusta makes it with different handles. I don’t love the toy looking flowers on the Bamboo handle, but AG Russell had this one on sale. I really wanted one, so I got it. It has a GORGEOUS Japanese Damascus blade. It came in a folded leather presentation case and is just a classy looking knife and case, other than the children’s toy lookin flowers… sigh.
QUEEN CUTLERY-Made for IKNFECOLLECTOR.COM. Jan told me I would love the high carbon steel, 1095. I do! I sharpened it and WOW, I love using this knife. It’s as sharp as sharp gets. It took me a while to be ok with the lack of a backspring, but now I don’t even think about it. I Love using this knife. Thanks IKC!

These sound like a great bunch of knives. I may add a few of them to my collection in the future. Thank you for sharing Alec. Now on to read "The rest of the story"
