The state of Washington offers some very diverse geological and climatic aspects. On the Western side of the state...we have rainforest. On the Eastern side of the state, we have more of an alpine setting. In between, we have an interesting mix of high desert, scab land and prairie. Shown here is a fine example. You can be driving along through rolling hills...when all of a sudden the landscape drops into river valleys...with their own assortment of greenery. Very nice.
