Leatherman has been the #1 name in multitools for a long time. The company has been a true innovator...and as any owner of their product will tell you, they produce high quality tools. Well...a few years ago, the company decided to venture into the knife world. I was an early adopter and picked up an E307 model. This small knife was high quality...and offered great functionality...AS A KNIFE...but it also included some nice multi-tool features as well (screw driver and bottle opener). Recently, Leatherman upped it's line of knives and I picked up the E55B shown in this photo. Like it's predecessor, this companion's build quality is EXCELLENT. 154cm blade steel on a drop point design. The 307 was a liner-lock knife; the E55B is a lockback...and works wonderfully. It also has screwdriver and bottle opening capability. While I like and use multi-tools all the time, I am a knife guy first and can tell you that I am absolutely blown away by the quality of this knife. Unbelievable. And...if you are ready for this; the price...AT CABELAS (known to have high prices)...was $60! It came with a super high-quality sheath (though the knife has an excellent pocket clip) and a full set of screwdriver bits. HOME RUN, LEATHERMAN! I simply love this knife. It is truly and awesome blade!

"The photos in the previous post are of an old German pruning type knife I just aquired. It surely is interesting, and quite old."
