This is my set of three French Gras Bayonets Model 1874. They fit the Fusil Modèle 1874 or Gras rifle, which was the French Army's primary service rifle from 1874 to 1886.

Manufactured in the age of "strategic reach", a primary design factor for infantry weapons of the 19th century, the M1874 rifle and bayonet saw active service and conflict up through WWII. Columbia kept theirs in service until 1950, while infantry units in Yemen were still using theirs as late as 2002.

Top to Bottom:
July 1877 - St. Etienne, France
April 1880 - Chatellerault, France
July 1881 - Chatellerault, France

"What makes this knife unusual is that the same knife was also made as a bullet knife that is worth less than the non-bullet model."
