The online community of knife collectors, A Knife Family Forged in Steel
A couple of years ago, I picked up a GEC Tidioute #23 in Frontier Bone from Gary Norton/Northwest Knife Company. It quickly became one of my favorite knives. Partially because I liked the look of the Frontier Bone...but mostly because the #23 fits my hand well...and, of course, the build quality was impeccable. Oh...and while I have several #23's, this particular one has the best "balance" of the lot.
Recently, I was going through Gary's store (the web site) and saw a #42 Trapper in Frontier Bone. The photos of the knife really rung my bell...so I decided to go ahead and buy the knife. Upon opening the tube, I knew that what I just picked up from Northwest Knife Company was going to be a serious home run. I love two-bladed trapper knives...and this one, being little larger than the average, is "perfectly-sized" for my hand. Also...GEC appears to have gotten even better at producing the Frontier Bone handle scales...as this looks better than all of my other FB knives. Oddly, when I went to photograph the knife, no matter what I did, the blade ended up "blinded" in flash...or too muted. So...in the end, I chose to show you a photo that best shows off the great handle scales...
