I like GEC's 89 pattern (identified as either a melon whittler or a gambler). The latest edition sports a very elegant clip point...and it's probably my favorite. This particular Tidioute features Buffalo handle scales...though they are so small that they just look solid black. Oddly, this knife may have the worst quality of any of the GEC's that I own. While the walk-and-talk totally rocks, the handle scales are undersized and in the closed position the backspring protrudes past the outer top and bottom edges of the scales. Other than that, this is a nice knife. I have to admit to being a bit puzzled by GEC's typical use of Buffalo on the Tidioutes. I'd like to see it more on the Northfields; it's an upgrade handle material and seems to "belong" more on the higher end line.
