When it comes to slip joint knife designs, the trapper platform has been around "forever". It's long been a fave of mine. Well, fortunately for me, our friends at Great Eastern Cutlery have given this age-old platform a much-needed freshening up...via their Model 73. Basically, this design takes the large trapper design, compacts it a little and adds a couple of fun twists:
* Check out the double pull design; a short "long pull" and a nail-knick located towards the tip (which is what I use to open this knife).
* Both Spey and Clip blade shapes.
* Perfect half-stops for both blades.
* Magnificient Ebony Wood handle scales. These are the most beautiful wood handle scales that I've ever seen on a slip joint knife!
This beautiful knife is a hallmark safe queen. Why? Doesn't it beg to be used? Sure it does! Around my home office! I'm not messing up those beautiful Ebony Wood handle scales!
