The online community of knife collectors, A Knife Family Forged in Steel
One of the more enjoyable aspects of being a collector of Great Eastern Cutlery knives is that most of their production is "limited runs" (either in the actual pattern or the handle material...with other more subtle variations as well).
Shown here is the GEC Tidioute Muskrat platform with exotic wood handle scales (Mexican Bocate wood). The fit and finish on this knife is SUPERB!!! Look closely in the photo; you'll see that pretty much every facet of this knife is perfectly executed. One of the most enjoyable...and ergonomically intelligent features of this particular model is the nail scoop access on each handle scale. This makes reaching the nail nick on the blade a lot easier.
I have no complaints with this knife and consider it an exceptionally wonderful addition to my collection (I have a bit of a penchant for the cigar handle pattern). If I could add just one thing to make it "better", it would be to add half-stops to the blades. Other than that, this is nearly perfect!
