so  you mean i can start thinking bout a new Christmas -knife jan ??  wow ! thats makes me all exited !! LOL

and true d-l-k-g !  the sheath is not bad at all.... and you can store the knife in it for ever without worrying about its condition too

Kees,

I like the advise, inexpensive way to get a decent knife for the kids and we all know that Santa is beginning to get packed!

Agreed, Kees!

And make sure to get the non-serrated version, like Kees has!  (Oh, & don't be fooled by the nylon sheath -- there's an insert that hugs the blades & does a soft snap to indicate the knife is all the way in before you snap the retention strap -- the sheath is better made than it might first appear.)

ok....this gerber is made in china

ok....it is just 440A steel

ok....the sheath is not fancy leather

but it is very......OK !

this is the best camp knife you can get in this price-range ( if you can still get it because i think it is dicontinued now )

very well designed by william harsey and a knife that does the job quite excellent for its  $ 30.-

get one for the kids while you still can !!  is my advice !
