also i apologize... im a GEC fan and know my GEC well ...serial this no serial that ...one of one popping up..ectect.. BUT i of course dont see every model.. i was shown in fact that their were #46 WHALERS with .. we were both not sure if LASR ETCH or SCRIM.. my guess was laser on bone. i would like to have a 46 broken down and PRE-BAN and SCRIMMED...{hmmm}
i just grabbed 4 Whalers recently all in the same purchase.2 of them are the ones in the pic {also COCBOLO AND REDBONE!!}..BIG THANX TO IKC MEMBER AGAIN!
...the color of that WALNUT STAIN bone is awesome...as soon s i saw it right away it became one of my fav GEC colors for bone.....also i really thought the WHALER would just be a blade i would grab and put up since of the nature of the beast!....MINT IN THE TUBE years from now... these are the "odd" types of blades that folks go on the hunt for $$$
.......BUT although its big it actually fits my hand perfect!...the choil that comes together as you open main blade is awesome...no that i have these four.. yes the others LIKE STAG!!!! might make the hit list...
lots of folks said it was just to much blade and they have no reason to use it.il give you one chopping through rope on my UNKS boat would be a breeze with these blades!... my only OFF with these was no spcail TUBE or anythig...not even WHALER etch...its the kind of knife that IMO desrves the hook up!...WHALER by itself stamped into balde with a nice MOBY DICK tube would have rocked... i might find a 2nd or EDC ...i do wanna have one done up in IVORY...HAVE IT SCRIMMED. WHALING SHIP on one side with men and harpoon and all...and a huge WHALE on the other side... a scrimed whaler with whale...THAT WILL BE SWEET!
CONGRATS ON THE NICE GRAB!!!! ...
That What i want!!
Yes Jan, That's the one I picked. The bone is awesome looking.....I also like the look of the Primitive bone and the few burnt stag I've seen.
