As J.J. has already stated, there are a lot of guys who use extra virgin olive oil on leather. From what I have studied on this, the key to using it is, don't use too much. I did investigate the options before choosing olive oil (extra virgin). I guess time will tell for sure, but I am pretty confident that it will be fine. Thank you all for your kind comments.

I've used olive oil for a long time, on knife steaths, with no problems.  It's my first choice in many applications.

the color is great, but Im with Kees, wont it get rancid? What about mineral oil, I wonder how much color that would add.

looks great !  was the oil "extra virgen" or just colourless

and arent you afraid over time the oil will : go bad " and kill the leather ?
