The blade blank has a push tang that is five inches long. I knew I wanted something substantial for a handle that would surpass that length. I looked at wood and other things but I really wanted a hunk of anlter or bone. It took several months before I finally found something big enough for my needs.

the 6.5 inch bone handle was just what i needed.

I'm seriously looking at picking up a few more bones. Of course I've got a few white tail deer bones buried in the back yard, aging.

The handle goes good with the knife!

If it was me, I'd tell people that the handle was made out of a bone from a Pirate captive's leg.
