It looks like a b to me. All I know is they were made in Japan. Up to the 80s. But I'm not really sure.

hey steve...id like to learn more about this piece if you wouldnt mind.do you already know? if not i cant totally read the PATNT number... dos it start with a B...which does happen.... anyway the patent can be anything from the color of the bone...to the ltch system...bot most of al it will help me date it the knife to a crtain degree. i already tried some guessing..but with no luck... the nuimber would be great. it looks like b87330... the B means "re-examined patent" ...thanx for helping me out!!!~pf~
