You can contact Bernard Levine here-http://knife-expert.com/appr-k.htm- He charges a $25 fee for a single knife you already own, but has an option to send him the photos to see if it is worth appraising before you pay anything- His service is done online,so no need to ship the knife-You can also google" knife appraisal" for others who might appraise it, but Bernard Levine literally wrote the book on knife appraisals- A.G. Russell, as Manx mentioned, might also be to offer some insight.

Thanks John, It seems I can rely on you for this kinda thing:) I had an Auctioneer tell me it was a boy scout knife and he wanted me to sell it to him for like $30 or $80 for three knives, including the Robeson you looked up for me and what I believe to be a Vietnam era Ka-Bar...Needless to say I told him in not so many words that he could go pound sand. LOL Anyway I was convinced it was a Hitler youth knife as well until he told me it was a boy scout youth knife, which only confused me seeing as how it has the markings in German plus it was made in Soligen... I feel a little vindicated now, I think he was just trying to rip me off or he didn't know what he was talking about... I got this knife as well as the Robeson for next to nothing, in that sense I am lucky and I'd like to think I have an eye for quality :P

Thanks again, I really appreciate it. I do have one more question though, What would I have to do to actually find out its true worth and rarity? I don't think I really want to sell it but I would like to know everything about it I can.

I also want to say thanks to everyone who commented and like this post.

Paul T-You are partially correct- This is an Anton Wingen Jr.- Othello Brand- Soligen, Germany youth knife of a sort-The ROSTFREI trranslates to RUST FREE (stainless) This is a Post WWII production of a Hitler Youth Knife- After Germany lost the war in 1945, Swatiskas and other Nazi symbols were banned in Germany- During the war, this knife would have had a enameled red swatiska on a white background where the diamond shaped shield is- After the war it was replaced by the fleur de lis like yours has-Yours, I believe, was made shortly after the war --late 40's early 50's-Yours has 2 unique features- First, yours still has the leather buffer in front of the crossguard- It was meant to keep moisture from getting inside the knife-Most are missing them these days. Secondly, and more importantly, although I looked at probably 70-80 youth knives both WWII and post WWII, yours is the ONLY one I have seen with any type of serrated blade - Might make it significantly more valuable to a collector- Great find !! Most I saw for sale were from European sellers-Roughly $150-$250-Yours, with the rare serrated blade ????
