Welcome Home...THANK YOU FOR BEING A PART OF OUR COMMUNITY

This is one I found on ebay a few weeks back. It was in terrible shape so I thought why not go ahead and clean it up completely. After many oil soaks and gun scrubber cleaner in the joints, this is all I could do. At least it's nice man jewelry now. Still keeps a good edge, Got all the snap back in both blades too. even with the pitting all over the blades. Early 1940s made.

Thank you Gary! Those handles sent me over the edge. When I got it, the thing was covered on rust and many would've thought it was outgassing. I had to clean it up, though it's not my natural thing to do. But I had to bring this knife back and see a little bit of what it looked like new,,,, back in 1930s/1940s. It snaps like new too, pretty sure this some more of Schrade Cut Co's finest work, obviously for Shapliegh Hardware Co.

Thank you Jan and Brad!! Jan I had originally planned to reblade this one but when it showed up and had stamps on both blades, I thought I better not. Definitely made before the mild 1940s! By the mid 40s Shapleigh stopped stamping all blades and only stamped the main from then on.

Perry,

I agree with the clean up decision and under all that was one sweet knife.  As you said, even with the pitting!
