Welcome Home...THANK YOU FOR BEING A PART OF OUR COMMUNITY

For those that have been asking, first and foremost Thank you for your concern. Yes we are a bit in the way here, if you look at the map on the left, we are in towns county. The other two will show you where the fires are. No evacuation for us so far. Pray that continues if you would please.

They will get what is left when it leaves us JJ but looks like it may just be a repeat of last night.  Wind followed by soft sustained rain.  We are Praying for them to get 1-3 also, time for all these fires to get gone, they are just feeding each other now

Western side of the Smokey mountains are getting hit hard. Any rain forecast for them, Jan?

so last nights 12 hours of slow steady rain did not put the fires out.  It did clear the air of smoke (first time in almost a month!)  It did bring enough rain to douse the new fires that had popped up due to the extreme wind that came through right before the rain.  Tonight and tomorrow we are looking at thunderstorms.  Bring on the rain but no lightning please!  No new maps today, the weather prevented the infrared camera plane to up

Not sure about the extra moisture, Jan, but I can pray the wind blows in a favorable direction to cause a back burn in the fire.

first hard frost in kc this morning.  high winds and 50 degree temp drop yesterday.

Humidity is higher but only a sprinkle of rain  Winds sustained at 20 with gusts of 40.  Temp drop into the 20's and leaves flying all around.  Does anyone know, if we get a freeze does that mean more moisture in the air?
