hey derek, yeah the tear drop..one of my favs by far...always has been since i started but i never have locked down an actual fav. now that their without the paint... if one was around...mmmmm...i would love it! right now im working with a fellow on getting  a specific DROP i have always wanted a custom BRITTON...love his tear drops! i only live 45 minutes from a gentleman with a very nice custom store and he has a few Brittons on hand!! im hoping for a stag. i love the WARRANTED!...straight and to the point...it was like "see my knife ,yeah the one im using,i was smart and got me one that was warranted!,says so right their on the blade!"....LOL .. PS-my newest TEAR DROPs was a solid celluloid IMPERIAL and a solid cell YALE BRAND... {and steve the camera is on the charger....LOL}

Hello Peter,

Always happy to meet another fellow who likes a nice Teardrop Jack!

The name on the blade is an etch filled with paint. 

I have attached a shot of a blade without the paint. ( I like it).

As you can see, the etch is very precise and actually penetrates the surface of the blade.

wat a beauty..the tear drop is a fav pattern if not my fav!...the salvaged wod mkes it all the beter.. somehow the JBF even with me seeing it everywhere was somethig i kept putting of reading about. now that i did... the knives they are having made are awesome!... my only question on the blade is it a stamp or an etch?

This JBF Champlin knife is 1 of 5 that was handled with old rosewood salvaged from the derelict Cattaraugus factory building in Little Valley, NY. Guess what our next run of knives will be handled with?
