Didn't think I would acquire another Jeff Ware slip joint so soon, but I couldn't pass this one up. It has bull horn covers backed with 23k gold leaf and a 2.875" CPM 154 blade. This is the first one Jeff made with some filework on the back spring. The shield is coin silver made from a silver 18th century Spanish 1/2 Real coin.

Here is a pic showing the file worked back spring.

Here is a pic of the Spanish 1/2 Real before Jeff ground and polished it:

What is really neat about this piece is that Jeff provided the story around the bull horn.  The horn came from a bull fight in the pueblo of Motul (just outside of Merida, Yucatan, Mexico) by world famous Spanish Rejoneador, Pablo Hermoso de Mendoza (a Rejoneador fights from horseback).  Here is a pic of Mendoza fighting the bull:

Here is a pic of Jeff harvesting the horn:

What is even neater is the fact that the knife made it from Merida, Mexico to my door in Pennsylvania in just under 24 hours!!!
