Ah, the very knife I'm looking for information on.  Mine was recovered from the bilge.  I've cleaned it up and developed the edge.  I think the mark was used 1955 to 1965.

Ralph,

This is a KA-BAR Rope Knife. It came in two variations.

1) Had the knife and a separate steel marlinspike with a leather sheath

2) In addition to the spike, the deluxe "Yachtsman" Version also had a pliers with an adjustable wrench on one leg. All in a bigger sheath.

They were built around the 1960s-78 give or take a few years.
