a gift, bought in the northern part of the Philippines, the sheath and hilt are made of kamagong. a glass bead serves as the eye of the bird. the blade is a low grade stainless steel of some kind.

thanks terry! it was a gift from my assistant who went on a vacation up north of the Philippines actually. I have a lot of kamagong (mabolo) wood training weapons but this is the only knife I have with such materials. its a very hard wood and very difficult to work thus the lack of its use as knife material.

Very nice, Relly. Your new knife has an almost organic quality that is a mix of the primitive and the futuristic. I can see why you purchased it. Beautiful wood and finish, too!
