Welcome Home...THANK YOU FOR BEING A PART OF OUR COMMUNITY

This is my local knife shop just down the hill from where I live. It is located right next to the world famous Santa Anita Racetrack in Arcadia, California. At the Westfield Santa Anita Mall in the recently added outdoor Promenade. The owner's name is Vince and his father was a regional distributor of Gerber knives for 30 years, back in the day. They carry primarily tactical folders and fixed blades. Good folks!

Indeed, Steve. Cutlery shops such as this one are an endangered species. As are so many stores that have literally been driven out of business by the internet. It is impossible to maintain the overhead costs that these brick n' mortar stores require -- rent, employees, utilities, etc -- and compete with someone selling their wares on eBay with no overhead costs at all.

My friend, Vince, who owns this store, once had 3 stores in different malls around Southern California. In the last 5 years he has had to close two of them because of our Country's economic downturn. For most people knives fall into the category of discretionary spending. At least many of the tactical or traditional knives that us hobbyists seem to accumulate like fleas on a dog. Kind of sad, really.

Nice to see a brick and mortar!  I like that they have a sign out front saying YES...we sharpen.  It is becoming harder and harder to find folks that still do
