The online community of knife collectors, A Knife Family Forged in Steel
Rough Ryder has long discontinued the jumbo Stockman knife, and as I've discussed, here, their large stockmans we're a poor comparison to the CASE 75 patterns. I ordered the RR 2334 brown burlap micarta after a discussion on Facebook. Well, it arrived yesterday and while still not on par with the CASE, it's much improved over the previous versions.
Overall, it's a nice knife.
I really like the burlap micarta scales. They flow seamlessly into the bolsters. Even the shield is flush. The ringed, pinched, slanted bolsters are good... except for that dang "R".
It's not necessary as the shield has the RR logo. The "R" really takes away from the overall looks of this knife.
On to the blades, which was my complaint on the old version. They kept the spines, on all three and added nice looking swedges which then thinned out the blades. Still on the thin side, they look nice.
This one is getting pocket time for a while to see how it goes through it's paces
