The tops is the latest. It is my "Appalachian Bowie." It features a 7.5 inch clip style Bowie Blade with a brass cross guard. The handle was made from elk antler. Overall length is 12.5 inches, approximately. The blade blank is stainless and features a hidden push tang.

The second features a 4 inch drop point carbon steel blade made to look like an old file. It has hunter style cross guard and also features an elk antler handle. Overall length is approximately 11 inches. I call this one my "Appalachian Skinner" I figure, i made them, I get to name them!

What finish do you use to get the shine on the antler nice

It wasn't a file, but I also didn't do the cross-checking.  I bought the blade that way.  The guys said it was carbon steel and made in the USA. I can only take his word for it.  I've seen them sold on ebay. They never list place of origin but do claim them as carbon steel. It is one cool looking blade. As soon a s saw it. I knew exactly what type of handle it needed!

Those names work for me. You mean that really wasn't a file, you did all that cross-checking yourself? Outstanding!
