Bayonets of Japan: A Comprehensive Reference on Japanese Bayonets

- Hardcover
- Copyright 2007, First Edition
- 480 pages
- Lots of photos
- Book Size: 8 1/2 x 11 inches

One of the resource books in my “Holy Grail” category, I finally acquired my personal copy of this book. Finding a copy for sale is not always too difficult; finding a copy that is available and that I can afford is a whole other game! For all the internet space devoted to the Type 30 Japanese Bayonet, I am amazed more references from this book are not cited.

Bayonets of Japan: A Comprehensive Reference on Japanese Bayonets by Raymond C. LaBar is a large-format, hardcover book with over 1,100 color photos that serves as a detailed guide for collectors. The book is a collective effort by LaBar and other experts to document and introduce many variations of Japanese bayonets, providing both historical and pictorial information. It is considered a definitive reference for the subject, covering details such as different series marks and historical context for bayonets like the Type 30.

Many of the other books I do not own (yet), but I completely agree with your assertion in its 'holy grail' status.  I have found it to be indispensable.
