Always struck out trying to snag one of French knife maker Nicolas Weber’s Jackdaw slip joints. Well, a very dear friend who has one in his collection commissioned Nicolas to make me one for my birthday. What a glorious day. Red Gidgee covers with textured bronze bolsters and a 26C3 blade.

Wow!  That friend of yours is freaking awesome!   I cannot fathom trying to acquire something like this for myself, let alone commissioning one for a friend.

A beautiful hamon line on the blade as well.  Gorgeous knife!  Congrats!
